This proposed redevelopment of the Lowe’s site in the Mount Baker area creates a space that fosters a feeling of community engagement, recreation and safety while also serving ecological functions. The site has a constructed wetland that aids in surface runoff, storage and re-circulation of water back into the mixed-use buildings or to be stored in a cistern. The wetland creates habitat for wildlife within the area, and green spaces offer residents recreation and leisure while bike paths connect with the Accessible Mount Baker plan.
